Ojibiikaan is an Indigenous-led nonprofit offering land, food and culture based programming in Toronto.

Aanii, Tansi , Dẕenēs̱ hoti’e, Wachay , Hell Aanii, Tansi , Dẕenēs̱ hoti’e, Wachay , Hello! 

Ojibiikaan, Buffalo Culture Society, 2-Spirited Peoples of the 1st Nations and Evergreen Brickworks invited you to join us June 12th-18th 2025 for a very special Buffalo Hide tanning camp! 

Red River Metis Colin Arlt from Buffalo Culture Collective based in Saskatchewan, and local Anishinaabe Knowledge Keepers Viola Day and Candace Day-Neveau will be sharing Hide Teachings from different perspectives throughout the day camp. In this camp you will gain hands on experience working with traditional tools to process a buffalo hide and cultural teachings from Red River Metis and Anishinaabe Perspectives.

On this trip we will be joined by Elder Kitty Lynn Lickers and Knowledge Keepers Viola Day and Adrienne Xavier for our yearly Garden Opening ceremony and  Sacred Fire. Lunch and snacks from Honeys Catering will be provided.  This program is open to First Nations , Metis and Inuit families and caregivers with children 0-6 in the GTA only.
